Trumantine – painting and poem

This painting was created as a postcard, but was lost in transition.  Perhaps it wanted to remain near the lake where it was born.  Therefore, I could not request that the recipient scan it for me to gain better resolution.  Nonetheless, I present to you, “Trumantine”!

“Trumantine”

Trumantine found a cap in the sand and tried to make a boat.

Trumantine tossed the boat in the lake as far as it could get,

but there were too many rudders and not only did it not float,

Trumantine heaved too hard near the shore,

and Trumantine got wet.

UPDATE!  The card arrived after all, just a little waylaid.  The scanned image is much clearer, but I’m leaving both images in for curiosity and quality comparison.
